Nice to meet you.
I’m Tala.
B Psych (Hons), M Psych (Clinical)
I am the founder, director and principal psychologist at Centred Life Psychology. I first started my journey in psychology in 2017, commencing my undergraduate degree of Bachelor’s of Psychology at Western Sydney University. After graduating with honours, I moved on to the University of Technology Sydney to complete my Masters of Clinical Psychology, submitting my thesis on the relationship between chronic pain and death anxiety.
Over my five years of experience providing therapy to adults across the lifespan, I've cultivated a diverse skill set across multiple therapeutic domains, working in private and public health settings. From supporting individuals grappling with addiction in drug and alcohol settings, to facilitating group programs for women’s recovery from PTSD and Complex PTSD in a trauma hospital, my journey has been rich and varied.
I was inspired to open a practice that catered to diverse communities, as a result of my own experiences seeking therapy and struggling to find someone who could understand the nuances of my cultural upbringing and integrate my strong faith practices in therapy. I firmly believe that our cultural practices and beliefs shape who we are, and these aspects of our identity should be seen as assets in therapy, rather than barriers.
I decided to create the space that I found myself longing for, a culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed and faith based practice that focuses on a holistic approach to healing the mind, body and spirit.
